"Humagne" 2019 CaHu19
Considered to give strong, kind of earthy / wild wines, Humagne is a grape that can surprise. This one keeps almost everything but shows a very enjoyable refinement. Well balanced this a nice example of the potential of the grape at a fair price (2018 was awarded Robert Parker 90+).
Drink before: 2024
Its relative refinement allows greater pairing than the Syrah. Of course, this wine is calling for meat (any type) but red wine lovers could also try it with fish. In other words, it's great!
Saindrine Caloz took over the estate from his parents (Miège near Sierre in Valais / Wallis) few years ago with the envy to turn it organic. The idea was not to follow or anticipate a trend but to be able to have walks in the vine with her childs. Good choice, her wines are now awarded by local and international press. All the wines shows an excellente quality!
